THE SCHOLARSHIP LIMITATION PRINCIPLE

The “Scholarship Limitation Principle”
states:
There are only three ways you can
determine the “true text” of the Bible:
(1) spiritually guided common sense (spiritual, rational insight), (2)
putting your faith in one or more scholars, and (3) the personal production of
scholarship. Method number 2 asks you
to put your faith in people (we should only put our faith in people when it
comes to “doing the right (righteous) thing” and only if they have faithfully
lived a righteous life…we should never put faith in people to produce anything
that meets human need, though we may still use what they produce) and
method number 3 is beyond the ability of most people.
