PEOPLE WALK BY
FAITH, NOT BY SCIENCE
People can be emphatic in distinguishing
between faith and science. Yet EVERYONE
lives their life by both faith and science. Science provides the foundation.
Science tells faith, “Here are the tools you have to work with.” Science does NOT tell faith, “Here is what
you must do with these tools.” Science
says, “This is a hammer.” Faith says,
“I need to pound this nail with this hammer.” Our plans, our dreams, our hopes do not spring from science. They spring from faith. What you dream for is not something you can
see with your eyes. It is something you
“see” with the “eyes of your mind and heart.”
This “seeing” of the mind and heart is not science, it is faith. Everyone has faith in some “higher
authority,” whether it be God or reason or magical elves. Science gives us the OPTIONS of God or
reason or magical elves. Faith SELECTS
one of these options. It takes faith to
NOT believe that the Bible is the Word of God (the “Message” of God) just as
much as it takes faith to believe that the Bible is the Word of
God (the “Message” of God). People who
claim to reject the truth that the Bible is God’s “message” on the basis of
science are either deluded or liars. If
deluded, they believe that science is “a machine that can meet all of their
needs.” This belief is usually
unconscious. This explains the
durability of their delusion. After
all, how can you overcome a delusion when you don’t even know you have one?
